Buddhism is always giving knowledge and accepting/seeking out new ways of thinking. It teaches as it learns, and learns as it teaches (as do we all, or those who should anyway).
Sitting at the computer, laughing at pictures of cats with cute phrases, staring at celebrities—wishing you were them, idolizing people you’ve never met or even bothered to learn about, going day-by-day through repeated processes—dulling the mind ‘til you lose track of all time, and ambition, and duty. Don’t live your life like this. Don’t CHOOSE this. There are no rewards from Internet kitties or People Magazine.
Life has infinite adventures, just WAITING to be had. Each of us given an empty book which gets filled day-by-day with whatever we allow our lives to hold. When your book closes, who will want to read it? When your tale ends, what will it teach?
Helping others is one of the most important aspects of life. If we don’t look out for each other, what will the future hold? Hatred only breeds more hatred. Kindness and love can only extinguish the anger.
“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
“What is the appropriate behavior for a man or a woman in the midst of this world, where each person is clinging to his piece of debris? What’s the proper salutation between people as they pass each other in this flood?”
-Buddha
Always seek out new knowledge because it is that knowledge that you’ll find yourself, you’ll find paths, and you’ll find it as one of the greatest nakama* of all. When you know, you’ll find your happiness as well (including the happiness shared with other people). Let go of materialism, let go of wants, and let go of expectations of others. Keep moving forward with no strings attached, doing what comes naturally to you and you feel should be done, but always keep seeking new thoughts or ideas.
I’m just thinking about some things, seeing the things people post. I haven’t posted in a long time, as I am planning for new adventures and working at them. Experience is what I look forward to, and it will give me the greatest of rewards.

“Nakama” is a Japanese word that directly translates to friend/comrades, and in some cases thought of as being “closer than your family/loved ones”.
For the record, I love cute pictures with cats and Internet jokes (not so big into celebrity stalking, though I too have my favorites), but I feel people overlook what they could be doing with what they are actually doing. Also, I do not classify myself as a Buddhist. I just love the teachings and, if I had to choose a label, it would probably be Buddhist/Taoist.
Shallow Water Suffering.
If only I had some fish-food…………..D;
Extra: Anyone else notice the oh-so-clear nose and mouth?! That fish has a pretty fierce looking friend.

Awesome capture. I always enjoy seeing the blend of ancient tradition with today’s society.
